You want to attract more visitors to your site, and it is time to contact an SEO Company to help you. How to choose? And what is “SEO” at all? SEO means “Search Engine Optimization”. Through a process of designing or redesigning web sites, download content and create links in the envelope, SEO companies have SEO experts to help your site rank well with the major search engines.

Type SEO Company in Google and get over 2 million hits. Just as the company, which is good for you to choose, here are some tips to help you find the best way to optimize your site Commercial web. Ask your colleagues. Find an SEO who knows your industry can be a great asset to the company’s website. Talk with your colleagues in their professional or trade association. Find out about SEO Company you hired, and see if their clients are satisfied with the results. If your colleagues do not go through site optimization, or SEO, your competitors and do not want to share with you, talk to friends in other industries can provide the names of a good SEO company.

One of the most important aspects of a successful search engine positioning strategy is the creation of inbound links that are connected to your website. You may have come across advertisements and even newsletters that talk about the benefits of link exchange. In link exchange, your website link is exchanged with other website links but it works successfully only if the other website targets a similar audience as yours or it can enhance reciprocal linking in any way. Such a scenario will definitely help your website get higher rankings.

Linking can be reciprocal or non-reciprocal and the latter has 2 distinct advantages over reciprocal links. The first advantage is that the non-reciprocal links holds more weight because of their non-reciprocal nature. It is easier for search engines to detect reciprocal links. The second advantage that a non-reciprocal link will have is that they will not be monitored the way most reciprocal links are. If you have reciprocal links then you will have to look out for unethical webmasters who can bring your link down. You need to be constantly aware of such webmasters and try to remove their links from your website as soon as possible.

These are just a few of the benefits of non-reciprocal link building but the question is how can you successfully do it? There are different ways of ensuring successful non-reciprocal link building and some of them are:

Providing useful or good content

Good content is like a goldmine. Content differentiates one website from another and is the thin line that separates success from failure. Some people or websites may link to your website just because your website has content that is useful for their customers.

If the content on your website is interesting and informative and is updated on a regular basis then there are many people who will try to link to you. One link is worth a lot of traffic and the increase in traffic to your website through such non-reciprocal links will enhance your search engine positioning.

Directory listings enhance non-reciprocal link building

Directory listings are considered as one of the easiest methods of obtaining non-reciprocal links. There is a condition though: you website needs to have excellent content, which will be value addition to other sites or for readers. Most of the directories will list your website only after you pay a small review fee.

Some of the popular directories include the Yahoo! Directory but it comes with an exorbitant price tag of $299 and hence is not the best option for a single listing. Another popular directory listing service is DMOZ or Open Directory Project and the only drawback is that it can take months to get listed here.

There is some secondary directory listing services also, which includes directories that are topic-specific. Most of the topic-specific directories are considered a valuable source of non-reciprocal link building to your website. The advantage is that you will be able to get quality traffic generated by your listing. The only aspect that you should check is that the directory used for non-reciprocal link building should rank well.

Submissions

Article submission is one of the most popular methods of enhancing search engine positioning through non-reciprocal link building. Although writing good articles may seem like a long and painful process but they are a great option for driving targeted traffic.

Once you have completed writing an article, you will have to find the right website to publish it. There are thousands of article directories but you need only the top directories that have a good ranking so that you can benefit from their ranking. The second important aspect is that your article title should have the key phrase that is relevant to your business or website or target audience.

The higher the number of article submissions directories, the better your chances are for driving targeted traffic to your website and this will also help in strengthening the search engine positioning.

Of course non-reciprocal link building can not be achieved overnight but once you achieve it, you will realize the immense potential it has over the internet.

There are several myths that circulate about SEO (search engine optimization) in general that have persisted for years. Unfortunately these myths consist of bad advice that could have you wasting your time and money and result in not making much of a profit of all.

Myth #1. “The more search engine optimized terms you have on a page the more money you will make.” Unfortunately the more SEO keywords you have on your page the more traffic you are likely to draw but it is likely to be just surfers not real buyers. Furthermore a search engine could penalize you for what is called “keyword stuffing.”

Myth #2. “You have to be inethical to make a profit using search engine techniques on the Internet.” There are probably more honest people using search engine optimization techniques to sell their products and services then dishonest ones. You can add SEO all you want to a site but if there is a basic problem with your business plan or equation then no short cut in the world will solve it. Usually the web sites that sell the most are sticking to the simple equation that has worked for salespeople for centuries – “The sell a product they believe in that does exactly what you promise it will for a low affordable price.”

Myth #3. “You have to spend money to make money using search engine optimization techniques.” Using SEO to make a living is the same as any other occupation. You only succeed as much as you are willing to put into it. However the good news here is that throwing money at programs, software and other gizmos is not what is required to be a successful merchant or affiliate marketer who uses SEO. All it really takes is time and talent, which can pay off in spades if you are talented.

Why do search engines exist? That may seem like a strange question considering the fact that search engines are designed to search for information.

OK so search engines exist to search, but who benefits most from search engines? Well, businesses benefit from search engines, but search engines do not primarily exist for businesses.

Search engines exist for the benefit of the searcher. The consumer is the individual that should gain the most benefit from a search engine. Search engines will always work to protect the trust of the consumer.

Many businesses will use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies that ultimately fail because they were developed to exploit the search engine or explore a flaw in the algorithm of the search function. Once the flaw is discovered there is typically a radical restructuring of results. This can be frustrating to business owners, but it generally causes very little concern for the consumer.

Why? The search engine continues to learn from past success and failure as it improves search results.

With that in mind let me suggest that when you as a business owner begin to explore SEO techniques you should always make sure that the techniques you use are ‘white hat’ or generally accepted by search engines.

You can improve your results by concentrating on a well-defined keyword or phrase. You can also gain points by making sure your have a steady supply of fresh content. This can allow you to discover the greatest overall marketing push from search engines.

I’d like to suggest one of the most positive ways to improve SEO marketing enhancement is to involve yourself in article marketing.

If you’ve never heard of this strategy before it is simply writing articles that have something to do with your product, service or industry. In this case you do not need to write articles that only deal with your site keyword or phrase.

Once you write articles (generally 400 words of more in length) you submit the article to as many free article directories as possible.

How does this help you?

Virtually all free article marketing directories allow you to place a bio with up to three links that must be included by anyone wishing to use your article on their website or blog.

Essentially there are two things that happen when you use this marketing technique. The first thing that will happen is your site will gain more exposure as individuals use your article and readers choose to visit your website(s) as a result of reading your work. The second thing that happens is search engines will recognize these multiple backlinks to your site and tend to rank your site higher. They do this because the more links back to your website from other site sources usually indicates a heightened level of trust and that makes your site a more positive choice for higher rankings.

If you can refuse the idea that you should find a way to trick the search engines and simply work to discover positive ways to direct traffic to your site you may actually find a more positive SEO experience and greater online visibility in the long run.

So you have a ranking in a search engine but it’s not quite what you expected, right? Well there are a few tips for ranking higher and I’m going to share those with you today so listen up.

Rank Booster #1 Increase Your Reciprocal Links

This is a time tested approach and it works in both Directories such as Yahoo! and also in Spider Search Engines such as Google.

What you do is setup a link trading directory and make categories just like a mini Yahoo! except you have them all relate to your market. This provides keyword density and it also gives your link popularity a big boost.

But please be warned that if you just go and get any links you can (i.e. untargeted links) you will be penalized rather than rewarded in your rankings.

It’s much better to get just a few high ranking link partners verses hundreds of unrelated and untargeted ones.

Rank Booster #2 Add More Content

This is a great technique that also works in both Directories and Spider Search Engines. By adding more content you will keep people who click over to your site there longer and this gets your ranking up in the Directories such as Yahoo! because they track how long a visitor stays at your site. If they click their back button then you will be shown as a site which doesn’t help the visitor which will decrease your rank.

You will get a higher ranking on the Spider Search Engines such as Google because they spider through your whole site seeing how many pages there are and this increases your ranking because you have more information there for there visitors.

Both Directories and Search Engines love content and track how long people are staying at your pages which in turn also increases or decreases your rank based on how long they stay. If they stay longer, your rank goes up. If they click the back button immediately, your rank goes down.

Rank Booster #3 Improve Your Sites Load Time

This is another that works with both Spider Search Engines and Directories. This will improve your ranking in Directories because it will keep more of the visitors that click over to your site there longer. Internet users want information and they want it now. If your site loads like molasses then they are going to leave. Directories track how long a visitor stays at your site and rank you accordingly. If a visitor leaves immediately then you’re rank goes down because your site was tagged as “not useful”.

It will improve your ranking in Spider Search Engines because the spiders check for load time and load speed is part of the ranking system when they calculate relevance of a site.

Rank Booster #4 Improve Your Keyword Density

This one only works for Spider Search Engines. The reason is because Directories only review & list you once so you can change your keyword density after they list you but the review and placement of your site has already happened.

It works great in Spider Search Engines because they continually spider your site analyzing & updating your listing according to what it finds.

If you need a better listing then utilize these strategies in helping you boost your rank today. They work and although they all take time, you will see a difference.

These are much easier tactics than you will find in big, complicated SEO courses and there’s a good chance that they may just bump your position up.

Get to work and start using them now.

By now, everyone has visited a website that utilizes Flash multimedia within its design. Since 1996, the use of Flash has grown in popularity thanks to its ability to add animation and interactivity to websites.

More recently, Flash has become an essential component in the prolific distribution of intrusive “pop-ups,” or web-based advertisements. Flash also grants designers the ability to integrate video into web pages, and this has led many within the Web 2.0 space to use Flash to develop rich Internet applications. Many companies, including my own, Denver based Fusionbox, offer streaming Flash Video Solutions to clients in need of online video.

And while the inclusion of Flash into websites no doubt enriches the user experience rendering it that much “flashier,” search engine optimizers (SEOs) have long been wary of the use of Flash due to the fact that it’s supposedly un-indexable by the search engines. Key word here: supposedly.

As we all know, the search engine game changes daily. If it stayed the same, it wouldn’t be called a game. The inherent beauty of it is that no one knows everything. Instead, all just players who know something, and we’re all practicing as we try to learn more to catch up with all the developments taking place. One such development is the evolution of Flash and the impact it has had on the science of search.

Back in day, Flash files were not indexable by search engines because the content was hidden from the spider’s digital eyes. The implications of this fact were dire from an SEO standpoint. It was no secret. Invisible content did not boost search engine rank or positioning. If anything, it held quality sites back because Google was blind to content found within Flash files, mistakenly convinced that there was no content at all.

Still, many web designers stuck to Flash (despite our SEO driven pleas) after falling in love with the allure of its interactivity and the attractive design capabilities it offered.

In those days, designers were confronted with a difficult choice. Give up on Flash in order to achieve better search engine rankings, or preserve the design and watch site rankings stagnate or plummet. Flash then, became a visually beautiful application that was literally empty beneath the surface, until now that is.

Today, Flash has changed dramatically from what it once was. The choice that once plagued designers is now extinct. Macromedia, the company responsible for creating Flash, now offers a product known as the Flash Search Engine SDK (Software Development Kit) that includes an application known as “swf2html.” This application extracts both links and text from Flash files (.swf), returning the data in HTML form. This allows Google and other search engines to “see” the Flash content that was formerly invisible.

Even with this development, the extracted text is nothing that appeals to the artistic sensibility. Yet despite its uninviting and often disfigured appearance, this text represents valuable content that facilitates search engine optimization.

I came across a great comparison of a Flash file and its extracted HTML text when researching this article, and I’ve included links below so you can see for yourself how this works.

Example of Flash file

Example of extracted text

Having seen this example, you’re probably wondering, “How do I know if my Flash content is visible to search engines?” Luckily for you, a simple test exists which can show you how much of the text in your Flash presentation is extractable by the Google bots.

Begin by performing an “exact search” (bound within quotes) using the Flash filetype operator (.swf) on a piece of text at the top of the HTML output generated by Macromedia’s tool. Then perform the same test against text in the middle and at the bottom, comparing results to see exactly how much of your content is visible to Google.

Another way this problem has been alleviated is through the use of Flash CS3. Users can publish Flash CS3 with meta tags (meta descriptions, keywords, and more) that are then able to index individual Flash movie content. Links are also indexable, and from an SEO standpoint, that’s great news.

Furthermore, with the implementation of XML and other external scripting languages (PHP and others) Flash can now run web sites at even greater speeds than their graphic-laden counterparts.

We’ve seen that although the popular misconception still exists that Flash content cannot be indexed properly by the search engines, the problem is not yet entirely solved. Rather, it’s only been partially alleviated.

You’ve still got to watch out for a problem that might be encountered by Flash presentations which use dynamic content pulled from a database, XML file, or other related source generated through user input. This type of content is not part of the XML file itself and thus is not indexable by Google and other search engines.

Caution must also be exercised in the case of certain types of motion in which the Flash movie creates an extracted output that contains duplicated content. Another SEO issue to avoid.

Armed with this knowledge, you can now begin to test your Flash presentations for search engine indexability and friendliness. Yet keep these unresolved issues in mind or you may hurt your website positioning more than you help it.

In conclusion, many of you are probably wondering what the future of Flash has in store. We can anticipate Flash becoming the primary provider of the presentation interface in handheld devices.

Numerous sources claim that Adobe (Macromedia’s parent company) is aggressively chasing cellular phone and PDA vendors, hoping to create partnerships that will allow them to deploy “Flash Lite” as the user interface on those type of products.

Interestingly, the next version of Flash will have two new features designed to ensure online advertising gets noticed.

The first will require that users watch an ad (in full) prior to viewing the main video, which could make online video sites a lot less user-friendly if we’re forced to watch an ad in its entirety.

The second feature is the addition of DRM, which will give companies the option and ability to link an ad to content, essentially ensuring that both are played and not modified.

As you can see, the evolution of Flash changed the online marketing space and will continue to do so. All indications seem to hint that Flash’s major influence will transform the domain of search, facilitate the development of custom web-based software and rich applications, and create user-brand interaction on a level never before seen online.

We as Internet marketers must always be “on,” at the ready to connect with customers across multiple platforms on their terms, not ours. As video becomes more and more the preferred method and focal point of strategic web-based marketing message distribution, we need to continue to “play” the game and stay one step ahead of the trends. Give customers the opportunity to choose you by positioning yourself where potential consumers of online media (video especially) already spend their time online.

The world becomes more and more a digital place everyday, and as the Internet evolves new opportunities to reach and influence consumers present themselves. Just make sure you’re ready when such chances present themselves, or you’ve missed the boat entirely.

Here I will show you the correct way to do SEO properly in order to get to the top listing in the major search Engines such as Google. The first step that you need to take is do some research on some Domain names for great keywords. For example if your selling books then you should use Google Adwords keyword tool and type in different things or words that any ordinary person might type in while looking for what you are selling. The time you find a proper keyword phrase that is high in demand and mostly searched on Google then you should make sure that the listings on Google are preferably in top position. What I mean to say is that when you type your chosen phrase into Google in order to do a search then do make sure that the listings are 200,000 or under.  It is for the reason that the more competition you have for those keywords the harder it will be to get on the first page so once you find a phrase that is highly searched and has low competition buy it that will be your golden domain name.

The next step that you need to take is to take care of your Meta tags as these are equally important. You have to put in your domain name keywords in the title of your Meta tags as well as in the description tags at least once. You must also make sure that you fill out your keyword tags too.

Then the next step which you need to take is to get as many links pointing to your website as much as you can but using fair means only. Links are free at first but after that it becomes a paid version so if you wish you can always upgrade it later. What you must keep doing is keep building links.

Next thing is that if you truly want to optimize your website for the spiders then this involves researching keywords. What you need to do is to put a list together of your favorite keywords like Highly Searched Keywords and then fit them into your website content as much as possible, without spamming since there is a fine line.

The above tips that have been just shown you above about SEO was just in a nutshell. Only if you use them then will you be ranked high organically in no time, getting some great free traffic to your website.

A search engine indexes different websites available on the Internet and shows a list of them to the users when searched on a specific keyword. You can compare a search engine to a library where you can search books on a specific topic and access numerous books. It is essentially a free service, but you can also invest into paid ads that appear along with the organic search results. If you are concerned about an ad that is appearing in a low rank on a search engine, they will give you customized tips. However, the search engines cannot provide such a level of service for the organic results because the number runs into trillions or probably more.

This is the reason Search engine optimization (SEO) has become a popular service, which helps your website appear in high positions on search result pages or increase your Alexa rankings (a method of ranking a website by calculating the number of visits with Alexa toolbars installed on the website). A search engine page ranking depends on multiple factor and even though the whole system is automated, it is highly intelligent. A search engine like Google, Yahoo or MSN will generally always reward a good site with high rankings. To learn what to do in order to secure a good page ranking for your website, read the following tips.

Keyword incorporation

Suppose there is a book, which cannot be classified into any category. It is neither a romance, nor a documentary. Any library will be confused regarding where to place it and will probably shove it to some obscure corner. The exact same thing happens with your website if you do not follow a central theme in it. If your website is about a varied subject matters, still try to bring them under a common theme and have this theme spread throughout your website content in form of keywords.

Links to other good pages

If other websites with high page ranks link to your website, your own ranking goes higher. The search engine crawlers automatically think, as your website is being linked by other ‘good’ websites, it must be useful.

Page loading time

If you are using a nice flash image on your website and feeling very happy about how brilliant your page is looking, think twice. Flash images can slow down your page loading time considerably. There is no problem with having a light flash file. However, don’t be over-enthusiastic and use a flash image that will take more than 20 seconds to load. Not only your Search engine page ranking will dip but your visitor will also run away elsewhere.

Under construction pages

How many times has this happened to you that you have searched on something, noticed a website that just suits your need and opened it only to see the pathetic message ‘We are sorry the site is under construction’? Neither search engines not visitors like this. Have your website and all pages up and running always, no matter what.

Pop-up and pop under

Search engines do not like pop-up and pop unders for the simple reason the users hate it. Find some other ways to send across the message and get rid of your pop-ups.

If you like to write, you already have one of the greatest tools at your disposal to generate traffic to your online business website.

What was it the voice kept telling Robert Redford? ”Build it and they will come.”

Well my friend, it’s not that easy. You have to point them in the right direction first.  If Google doesn’t know your website exists, how will anyone else? Publishing an ezine article is by far the most effective way to get Google to stand up and take notice. A single article can accomplish miracles in the SEO arena.

There are several main objectives to writing an ezine article. The most important of which is obvious, creating the kind of keyword magic that will put Google in a tail spin wondering where you’ve been all its lonely cyber life.

But keep in mind it’s not just about creating keyword magic.

You want to write an article that people enjoy reading and deem informative. This is the key to developing a readership. The best approach is to write a strong enough article to make other article websites want to add your content to their sites. It is not at all uncommon to see a single author’s article plastered all over the web. This proliferation will establish a presence over and over again for your online business. With each new back link your website stands a better chance of higher rankings.

To get the biggest bang for your key strokes keep the following tips in mind. Follow these simple rules and you will be rewarded with an abundance of internet traffic.

Let keywords boost your ranking

If a tree falls in the woods and there’s no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?

You can write the best article in your niche and it won’t matter if no one gets to read it. In order to read it, they have to be able to find it first. This isn’t rocket science here.

Before you sit down to write an ezine article, you must have a solid SEO strategy in place. You may not necessarily want to draft your article around the most sought after keywords in your market. Many authors choose to base their article around keywords that don’t generate as high a competition. In doing so, they zoom up to the top ranking using similar keywords. Pick your SEO strategy accordingly. If you don’t get the desired results, you can always write another article.

Be sure to write an article that is relevant to your key word terms. For instance, you don’t want “work at home business” listed in your keyword box if the phrase work at home business doesn’t appear any where in your article.  Search engine spiders look at your keyword tags first. Then they go through your article searching for those same phrases. The more relevant your article is to its key word search parameters, the higher your article will be ranked once it is posted.

It is common practice to use the main keyword in the first paragraph and again in the last paragraph. Then strategically deploy four or five similar keywords throughout the article’s content.

Just make sure to compose your article is such a way as to not sound redundant to the reader. You don’t want to insert keywords just for the sake of inserting them. A word of caution, keyword stuffing can result in lower rankings with Google.

Once you determine the keywords your article will be based upon, focus on seamless implementation. You want your article to flow naturally. You don’t want your reader tripping over your keywords. You want to incorporate them in such a way that you retain the reader’s interest.

Get them there and keep them there

Why write an article to begin with?

Article Submission = Free Traffic. What a beautiful equation!

The more people that read your article, the better the chance you have of someone clicking over to your website from the author’s resource box. You are not allowed to use an ezine article as a glorified sales pitch.  The resource box, however, can be used to promote your online business and actually get someone to your website. The ultimate goal in writing an article to begin with is to make a sale. Isn’t it? If you’re trying to find a way to make money online, you bet it is!

The more people who click over to your website from the resource box, the better the chance of you turning a profit off the time you’ve spent at your keyboard. Therefore, maintaining your reader’s interest is crucial.  If they click away from your article before they make it down to the resource box, you’ve pretty much wasted your time.

You need to grab their attention immediately and keep it. If you have a good sense of humor, use it.  Empathy is yet another approach. A reader that relates to you, or feels you relate to them, will take the time to hear what you have to say. If these don’t suite your style, you can never go wrong with good, solid content. Once you get them there, you want to keep them there.

Don’t make the mistake of writing a strong article just to have your reader disappointed when they get to your website. If they came in search of relevant information, it must be there for them.  If it’s not, they’ll click off your site before Google even knew they were there. What was that? Did I hear a chuckle in the background?

Something you may not be aware of. Google’s algorithms take into account the average amount of time a person spends on your website when determining its ranking.

Let your article build its own call to action

The ultimate goal is to make money online.

The purpose of an article is to pull the reader in. They are already interested in the subject matter or they would not be reading the article to begin with.

There is no real need to employ catch phrases or a call to action in what is meant to be an informative article. Many of your readers will see a sales pitch coming a mile away.

Your website undoubtedly already contains a call to action. Why should your article too?

Instead, let your article build the reader’s interest. Capture their attention with relevant content and allow that attention, that spark of interest, to guide them to the inevitable conclusion. An article supporting legitimate reasons for taking action will lead to action being taken.

Never under estimate the power of anchor text

If you read this article carefully, you were able to pick out the keywords I am optimizing for.  In case you are the greenest of newbies, I’ll list them for you;

Online business, home based business, work at home business, make money online

These will all be listed in the keyword box for this article.

In case you’re not aware of this, these are highly competitive terms. But didn’t I say earlier that it may be in your best interest to write an article based around less competitive terms? As a matter of fact, I did!

Here in lies the mystical power of anchor text. What is anchor text? It is the magic formula that hides your website from your reader’s eye while inducing them to Click Here!  All the reader sees is the hyper link that whisks them away on a magic carpet ride straight to your website or landing page.

If you’re not already familiar with anchor text format, simply Google hypertext or anchor text. I tried repeatedly to provide the format for you, but the ezine editor kept insisting on converting my example into an actual hypertext link even without the proper http:// designation attachment.

Note:

Please make sure to include the http:// (and www designation if applicable). You want your entire domain name with no spaces in the designated section. If your domain name does not appear underlined and in typical hyperlink coloration (blue or purple) when you are finished, then you have done something wrong.

Did you know that if you type the words Click Here into the Google search engine 1,360,000,000 results will pop up? And why is that? It might have something to do with the fact that for years webmasters used Click Here hyper links to induce a call to action to what was then a much less sophisticated internet user.  By placing the term Click Here there was no longer any doubt left as to what you were suppose to do.

Search engine spiders place serious emphasis on anchor text. If you look in my resource box, you will note that there are two Hyper links in the text;

Residual income and Affiliate Marketing

Why is that, the newbie might ask. Because anchor text pulls much more weight with the search engines than regular text. Therefore, I have placed the utmost emphasis on the keywords residual income and affiliate marketing. These terms are much less competitive than terms such as make money on line.

Affiliate marketing appeals to the online marketer looking for the next big affiliate program to promote. Residual income appeals to anyone seeking to establish a long term income with an online business. This article will stand a much better chance of reaching a page one ranking in the search results for these keyword phrases then it will with the more competitive terms.

Here’s one final tip before you submit your article for publication;

Never submit your article the same day you write it! Come back refreshed and detached the next day. You will be amazed how many simple mistakes you read right over the day before. A fresh set of eyes will help you see how to finish shaping your article into the masterpiece you meant it to be.

Conclusion

A well written SEO article is not just a string of sentences used to camouflage strategic keywords. An SEO article is a platform. It can be used to accomplish several goals; provide information, spark a reader’s interest, and ultimately bring them to your website. Your ezine article, when penned correctly, can generate internet traffic and sales without it costing you a dime. And that one submission that makes it to a page one ranking can continue to generate income for years to come.

These basic search engine optimization (SEO) strategies for all bloggers can help to increase your blog rankings on major search engines. Follow them routinely, and you will achieve consistently higher volumes of traffic to your blog.

Profitable bloggers know that search engine optimization (SEO) is an important element of optimizing their blog and how effectively they implement it determines whether they succeed in making money online or not.

SEO helps your blog rank high on search engine results pages, such that you get more visitors, or traffic, directed to your blog by the search engines. The process of SEO involves the effective use of keywords and keyphrases in your blog content.

Search Engine Optimization

Below are basic SEO strategies that will optimize your blog content and help you appear higher in the search engine results which means more visitors to your blog.

Know all your keywords and keyphrases and use them effectively on your blog. The more optimized your use of keywords and keyphrases, the higher your blog will appear in the search engine results. When your blog can be found on search engines, (the higher in the results the better) it means that you will get a lot of traffic to your blog.

When designing and building your blog, make sure that your keywords and keyphrases are included in your blog headings and sub-headings.

Use only high quality, unique and fresh content on your blog. Duplicate content can result in your blog being penalized by search engines. Using only fresh and unique blog content will get you noticed by the search engines and they will list you quicker and higher in the results.

Submit your blog to blog directories both in your niche and in general directories as well. This gives your blog even more creditiblity with the search engines and will only help to increase your exposure and traffic.

Create links with other related blogs. If your blog is linked to other blogs where you would expect your target market to visit, the popularity of your blog increases. Create one way links by submitting articles and participating in relevant forums and make sure that you include your blog URL.

Blog regularly using fresh, unique content and the keywords and keyphrases for your niche. Blogging regularly activates the search engine spiders to visit your site each time you post new blog content. The more regularly you post, the more often the search engines visit, the higher you rank for your niche.
